RULES FOR USING THE KAUNAS UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY “WANTed” JOB AND INTERNSHIP OFFERS PLATFORM

  • The Kaunas University of Technology WANTed job and internship offers platform (hereinafter referred to as the Platform) is administered by Kaunas University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as the University), legal entity code 111950581, address K. Donelaičio g. 73, LT-44249 Kaunas, VAT payer code LT119505811, email address ktu@ktu.lt.
  • Please read the rules for using the Kaunas University of Technology WANTed job and internship offers platform (hereinafter referred to as the Rules) before registering and using the Platform. When a company representative or student uses the Platform, the University will assume that the company representative or student is familiar with the Rules, agrees with them, and undertakes to comply with them.
  • The University may unilaterally change the Rules, the terms and conditions of registration on the Platform, the functionality of the Platform, the services provided on it, and the fees charged to the company. The company representative will be notified of all changes on the Platform via the email address provided by the company representative.

PURPOSE AND USE OF THE PLATFORM

  • The Platform is intended for companies and organizations seeking to publish internship, job, and volunteer advertisements on the website https://wanted.ktu.edu, to submit cooperation proposals to University employees and students, as well as to students who wish to independently monitor company offers and apply for advertised positions.
  • The platform can be used by a company representative(s) or student(s) (hereinafter referred to as the User(s)) registered on it by entering their login details in the registration form on the Platform or by a registered User filling in the details of a new User (another company representative) on the Platform. The User is prohibited from using the Platform for illegal activities. By registering and/or using the Platform, the company representative confirms that they are authorized to represent the company and that they provide correct, accurate, and complete data about the company and its representatives during and after registration.
  • A registered company becomes the administrator of its login details – it ensures the security of its login details and is fully responsible for the actions of persons logged in on its behalf. Each User undertakes to immediately inform the University of any loss or unauthorized use of their login details.
  • The User (except for students) agrees that the data provided during or after registration on the Platform will be public and accessible to visitors of the website https://wanted.ktu.edu.
  • Registration on the Platform and the publication of internship and volunteer advertisements are free of charge.
  • A company may publish one job advertisement free of charge. To publish more than one job advertisement, membership must be purchased.
  • Membership can be purchased by contacting wanted@ktu.lt.
  • All membership-related questions, including billing and administration, are handled exclusively by email at wanted@ktu.lt.
  • In accordance with the procedures in force at the University, invoices for services ordered (advance and VAT invoices) are issued and transferred to the accounting system automatically using the University’s systems (DPVS, imokos.ktu.lt, SABIS).
  • Data obtained for the purposes of membership acquisition and administration is stored in e-mail for no longer than two years, after which it is deleted or anonymized, except in cases where legislation provides for a longer storage period.
  • The User assumes full responsibility for the compliance of the content of the advertisement with the terms of the Rules and the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. By submitting data in the advertisement, the User confirms and guarantees that the information provided is true, accurate, and complete. It is prohibited to publish misleading, offensive, and inaccurate advertisements for internships or jobs, or other offers that violate the laws of the Republic of Lithuania and established moral norms on the Platform.
  • The University has the right, at its discretion, to remove advertisements or any other information submitted by the User from the Platform at any time, to make advertisements (information) invisible, to cancel the User’s registration, to block or edit the User’s advertisements and information if, in the opinion of the University, the User has violated these Rules or applicable laws, provided incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete and/or misleading information when registering or using the Platform, intentionally and consciously disclosed false or incorrect information, or, in the opinion of the University, otherwise acted inappropriately.
  • The University provides technical means for publishing information on the Platform, but does not undertake to participate in finding interns and/or employees, formalizing their admission, or other procedures related to published advertisements or offers submitted to the University.

Internship places

An internship is a great opportunity for a company to find young talents who can become prospective future employees.

The students of Kaunas University of Technology study in 11 study fields; therefore, you can propose the internship places in various areas of the company’s activities: various engineers, technologists, specialists of informatics and mathematics, students of social sciences, humanities, arts, business and public management. All study programmes are available HERE.

An internship is an important part of studies; it helps the students understand their future professional activities and successfully prepare for them. Your proposed internship places and active involvement in the internship process is a very important part of professional training; therefore, we expect the following:

  • The nature of the proposed internship places complies with the objectives and tasks of the internship programme included in the trainee’s study programme;
  • You have experienced employees who can supervise an internship;
  • You have a proper material basis;
  • You will provide a possibility to integrate practical training and studies;
  • You will provide the student with the working conditions complying with the standards of occupational safety, health and hygiene.

The students can complete several types of internships:

  • Mandatory internship is included in the last year of studies of all the Bachelor’s study programmes. During the mandatory internship, a student-trainee deepens and practically applies the knowledge acquired during studies, develops his/her skills and abilities, conducts the research of professional activities and collects the data for his/her final degree project. Usually, the entire working day is used for an internship.
  • Additional internship can be completed in the time free from studies (for example, after the lectures or during summer vacation); it can be completed by the students of any year of the Bachelor’s and Master’s studies.
  • Research internship is intended for the acquisition and development of knowledge and research skills while conducting research; it is completed under the supervision of highly qualified researchers under an individual research programme.

The process of internship at the company:

  1. Selection of a student-trainee;
  2. Assignment of an internship supervisor (mentor) at the company;
  3. Signing of a tripartite agreement on practical training among the University’s representative, the student-trainee and the company’s representative;
  4. Participation in the coordination of an internship plan;
  5. Supervision of the activities of the student-trainee, its monitoring and assessment of the performance results.

Internship supervisor (mentor) at the company is important for a successful internship of a student; therefore, we expect him/her to:

  • Participate in the making of an internship plan;
  • Assign the works related to the company’s activities and complying with the objectives of the internship to the student-trainee;
  • Consult and assist the student-trainee;
  • Monitor and assess the activities and performance results of the student-trainee;
  • Assess the performance of the internship (tasks) of the student-trainee by mark.

Internship through Erasmus+ programme

The University encourages its students or graduates to work in the area of their acquired education; therefore, only the work ads corresponding to their qualification are uploaded on the website.

Other proposals

Kaunas University of Technology is open to various cooperation opportunities and promotes the involvement of business and public sector companies in the process of studies; therefore, we are waiting for your proposals related to:

  • Improvement of the involvement in the study programmes;
  • Topics for the final degree and semester projects of the students that you consider relevant; the students can propose the solutions to your relevant problem (for example, product prototype, analysis of business or social problem and recommendations for its solution). The projects are usually prepared within 4 months; most of the final degree projects are prepared in February-May. The final degree project is usually prepared by one student, semester projects can be prepared by a team of students. The students are always consulted by the lecturers-experts of a respective area;
  • Lectures for students in your chosen topic;
  • Possibilities for students and lecturers to participate in the company’s events, visits to the company introducing the company’s activities;
  • Outsourced works that students could perform in their free time;
  • Other possible forms of cooperation between your company and the University.
